Job Description:
The BI Specification writer translates business and system needs into requirements for Designers, Developers and Testers to consume and uses requirements elicitation, analysis, specification verification techniques for this purpose. The Specification Writer may work on multiple requests simultaneously, for one user department. The Specification writer is engaged in work efforts at various scales ranging from minor defects fixes and enhancements to assistance with development of new Reports. The Specification writer will demonstrate a knowledge of the software development lifecycle and AGILE methodology.
Generic Duties: In addition to specific responsibilities, the Specification writer will also be responsible for ensuring:
1. Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, modelling, verification and methodology development
2. Knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
3. Proven analytical, mathematical, communication, and creative problem-solving skills
4. Understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
5. Strong listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Qualifications: The following qualification, skills and experience are requirements for this role:
1. You must have previous experience in a similar role and proficient with core software applications, including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
2. Pronounced in Report Writing, BRD, and RRD
3. Exceptional knowledge of Database, Schema, ERD, and DFD
4. Excellent with DWH, and EDW
5. Strong Understanding of SDLC
6. On Fleek in Agile Methodology
7. Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI etc
8. Knowledge of importing data for use in reporting software, spreadsheets & graphs
9. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills alongside with strong administration skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Education, or Information Systems; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Strong English spoken, listening, writing, communication and presentation skills.
