Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Firewall Engineer to join our IT security team. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level firewall solutions, ensuring the protection of our organization's network from unauthorized access. A strong background in network security, Cisco technologies, and firewall management is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, deploy, and manage firewalls, including Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, and other security solutions.
• Implement and maintain firewall rules, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and potential security breaches.
• Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues.
• Work closely with network engineering teams to ensure secure network architecture.
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and implement proactive measures.
• Provide support for security incidents, including investigation and mitigation of breaches.
• Document firewall configurations, rules, and changes for compliance and audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) or Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) or Cisco Certified Specialist - Security Core is preferred.
• Proven experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, or other leading firewall technologies.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, etc.).
• Experience with firewall rule configuration and management.
• Familiarity with VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and network monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and incident response protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Checkpoint.
• Experience with SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk, Cisco Secure Analytics).
• Knowledge of cloud security principles, especially in hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and principles.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Relevant Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) are required; higher-level certifications are a plus.
