Scala Software Engineer - Logistics

 

 Project-Related Tasks:

We are looking for a skilled contractor to help us extend our existing returns handling clients/applications and related backend services in the tech logistics department. The work will involve the following products and features: Integrating MCF business into the returns process to allow returns handling without a shipment number available. This will involve mapping return parcel tracking numbers to internal order numbers. Designing and integrating a new Inbound Distribution Algorithm into the return item distribution process. Supporting the implementation of the RIR project within the tech logistics returns team, which is a global project involving multiple departments.

 

 Requirements (mandatory):

The contractor must have experience working with Scala and be able to work within the existing service landscape of the returns domain, some of which are implemented in Java. They must understand the returns domain to allow independent micro decisions and deal with REST APIs of returns services and event-driven communication (Nakadi). They must have at least four years of experience with Scala. They must be fluent in written and spoken English.

 

Nice to have:

Experience in data protection, security, compliance, and anti-trust would be a plus. A logistics background or experience in this field would be an advantage.
